I’ve done several blackwork embroidery pieces in the last couple years using designs from The Steady Thread. This is my finished 2025 Stitch-Along piece, which I finished in December but am just now documenting here! Each week offered a new motif, and there were several different layout/border options. I couldn’t resist the cute stork scissors.

I didn’t stitch a circle every week, but I did stay generally on track and was happy to wrap this project up as 2025 ended. I haven’t framed it yet, and to be honest it may not get framed for a while since I don’t really have a place for it. What to do with my many finished projects is something I have been pondering on and off for years now.
For me, the point is often the making itself, and in having an ongoing thing to work on, without any thought of where the project will end up. This means I’m starting to amass quite a lot of finished stitching and quilting projects. What to do with them all? I’m not sure! I feel like this is a stumbling block that other people must have as well, but I don’t often hear a lot of talk about it…
I’m not sure what the ultimate home for this piece will be, but in any case, I’ll wrap up with a few more “in progress” photos:

Your black work stitching is beautiful!!!! Never heard of it. Counted cross stitch??
I love this piece! In the past few years I have been making fabric book to put my embroidery in. I don’t have the wall.space to frame but didn’t want them languishing in a drawer. Now I LOVE making fabric books! Highly recommend.
The stork scissors were a great choice to finish it off! I agree that the making is the point. I give a lot of my finished quilts away. I still have a decent amount, but I can’t keep them all.
