Several years ago when I made a baby-sized version of my Split Level quilt to accompany the pattern release. This top has been on my to-quilt list ever since, and it’s one of the six projects I chose for this year’s UFO Challenge. Happily, I was able to quilt it earlier this year during the few weeks I had between jobs!

Unfortunately I did not do a great job of documenting this quilt! I couldn’t find anything about the colors I used, and I know I pulled them from my stash so I may not have even cared what they were at the time, as long as they worked together. This isn’t a palette I would usually choose, which is what I was actually going for at the time — something different than the blues and greens of the original quilt. And ultimately thanks to my trusty Kona swatch card, I was able to identify them: Pesto, Leprechaun, Yarrow, Coral, Peach, and Ruby.

Longarming this small quilt didn’t take much time at all. I’m still in a phase where I basically want to try a different pantograph with every quilt, but I didn’t want to overwhelm the simple piecing of this one, so I chose Chain Mail, sized to create large curved lines that overlap/interlock but don’t overpower the rest of the quilt.
I don’t have any babies in my life at the moment, so I’ve listed this quilt in my shop at a very reasonable price. I would love it to find a happy new home!
